Time’s Up! is very excited to reveal the Crowdrise video for the East Village’s hottest new project: MoRUS, The Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space. Check out the NY Times article about the project.

Time’s Up! environmental organization is helping to launch this innovative, living history museum which will highlight how East Village community members and grassroots organizations stepped up and helped transform abandoned buildings and vacant lots into vibrant community spaces and thriving community gardens as well as used direct action to draw awareness toward diverse public space issues. Many of these grassroots, sustainable efforts and values spread to communities outside the neighborhood and can be seen today throughout the world. Time’s Up! will lend some of its extensive archives to the museum; more information on Time’s Up!’s archives can be found in this New York Times article.

We have a storefront location, tour guides and the community’s approval, we just need your support to help open the museum to the public. With every donation we get closer and closer to preserving the neighborhood’s vibrant history and opening the museum so please, please donate, spread the word through e-mail, Facebook and Twitter and know that it is deeply appreciated. All donations will be 100% tax deductible and every donation over $50 will receive a free membership to the museum.

If you would prefer to donate through Paypal, please visit the donate page on the museum’s website.

You can also donate by writing a check out to Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space and mailing it to:
