Waylaid by bike pirates, they still roll at wedding

Christopher Ryan and Allie Compton were married in a special “Critical Mass / Bike Wedding” on Governors Island on Sat., Sept. 18. It also happened to be international Talk Like a Pirate Day…so, Ryan and Compton naturally had to fight through a marauding horde of scurvy bicycle pirates before they could tie the knot. Reverend Billy, the performance-artist preacher, did the honors. At right, bride and groom got a pedicab ride after they were wed. At left, some familiar-looking pirates struck a pose with the harbor and Statue of Liberty in the background. Arrrrrr!
