PEACE & GRATITUDE BIKE RIDE

11/21/2021 – 2:00 pm

Meet at National Museum of the American Indian, One Bowling Green.

As Thanksgiving approaches, let us ride for peace and gratitude. Let us celebrate the Indigenous people of this area. This is a special ride at a special time of the year. Join us for a leisurely, peaceful ride to some of downtown Manhattan’s peace sites, including (partial list): The Labyrinth for Contemplation, Art from the Berlin Wall, The Irish Hunger Memorial, Teardrop Park, Tom Otterness’s “The Real World”, St. Paul’s Chapel, the site of the Mother AME Zion Church (“first church in NYC built and led by Afro-Americans”), the home of David Ruggles (stop on the Underground Railroad), the African Burial Ground, Point Thank You, the former residence of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and the Gandhi Statue in Union Square.

Great ride for kids and cyclists new to group rides. Route subject to change, not all sites listed above are visited on every ride and sometimes there are additional sites.
