Earth Day 2025 Bike Repair Class

Come and learn how to fix your bike and do simple maintenance and tune-ups.

This is a class, not a workshop, so you do not have to bring your bike. If you want to repair your bike you should be attending the indoor bike repair workshop.

Earth Day 2025 Garden Tour Bike Ride

Come celebrate earth day with a custom bike tour of our amazing community gardens!

The tour will start 2pm and will last abut an hour. The ride will be starting and ending at LaPlaza community garden, one of the most sustainable gardens in NYC. Dress in green if you like!

We will be visiting the community gardens of East Village which were started by community members and have been run by green volunteers ever since. Almost all these gardens are built on composted food that became soil that people drop off. Composting is a big deal at the community gardens and the volunteers have made this gardens into urban farms where they grow food and have incredible sustainable systems. On this Earth Day Bike Ride we will visit theses compost systems, raised plots, medicinal gardens, water recovery systems, solar energy producing, and bees that will buzz all around you. Having so many gardens in one area is not only for producing clean air but is a way to capture the rainwater during a flood.

Earth Day 2025 Medicinal Workshop

We’ll be drinking some herbal teas, identifying the herbs, and talking about what they were traditionally used for, what science there is behind them, and how to prepare them (whether that be a tea, a tincture, a concoction, or a capsule)! All led by Naturopath and herbalist, Noreen Kelly.
