Two shows by popular demand!

Come celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of pioneering space rockers Hawkwind’s “Space Ritual” double live album as we recreate the concert experience by bike!

Recorded shortly after the last manned Apollo Mission to the Moon in December 1972, this music will give us many cosmic opportunities to view stars, planets, and the skyline of NYC like never before.

A brief history of Hawkwind:

An English band formed in 1969, whose lyrics favor urban and science fiction themes, Hawkwind are also a noted precursor to punk rock and now are considered a link between the hippie and punk cultures.

Hawkwind have gone through many incarnations and styles of music as well as dozens of musicians over the decades. Their trademark sound is described as “that gargantuan and impenetrable pre-metal/hardcore drone, those great riffs, that inexorable drive to destinations unknown.”

Known as a “people’s band”, at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970, attended by 700,000 people and headlined by Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Doors, Jethro Tull, and ELP among many others, Hawkwind instead played for free just outside the festival’s fences in “Canvas City”, and later headlined the Glastonbury (1971), Windsor (1972–4) and Stonehenge (1974) Free Festivals (precursors to Burning Man) for years to come.

An unforgettable urban sonic experience, sure to take you out of this world!
