| Mayoral Forum Location has Changed, Due to Overwhelming Response!!! Route and Timetable 5:45 p.m. - Ride meets at Columbus Circle/West 59th Street 6:15 p.m. - Pick up more riders at Union Square Park South Once around City Hill, then to the debate 6:45 p.m. - Arrive at Forum at New York University Jack H Skirball Center for the Performing Arts 566 LaGuardia Place ( & Washington Sq South) Forum begins at 7:00pm. Let the new mayoral candidates know that bicycling is not a crime and we demand safer bicycle infrastructure! Before the ride and debate, go to http://www.parks1.org/mayoralforum to make a reservation and submit your question. This debate is hosted by Parks 1. Questions will be asked by reporters, on issues such as public space and parks. The organizers are pysched that the cyclists are coming and will be adding more questions on cycling safety & infustructures and how public spaces are viewed. The more questions we submit on their website will influence the topic of discussion. So go to http://www.parks1.org/mayoralforum and submit your question. Sample question: Over the last few years there has been an increase in cycling in NYC. The Bloomberg administration has refused to recognize this increase in cycling and create safe infrastructure for bicycles. If elected, how would your administration respond to cyclists' safety needs and provide more infrastructure? The most frequently asked questions will be used in the forum. So we need to submit as many questions as possible to be sure that bicycling is addressed. Spread the word! If you'd like to help TIME'S UP! and the bicycling community organize more debate rides, contact the volunteer coordinators at timesupvolunteer@gmail.com. |
